Which Disney Princess am I? (Stolen from [info]ladyxmoonlight ;)

(Real post that isn't a meme coming up soon. I promise. No really.)

Cinderella:
[] One of your parents is dead
[] You are expected to do a lot of chores
[] You love to dress up
[x] You love animals
[] You are waiting patiently for your Prince Charming (Oh I'm waiting, I'm just really not that patient about it)
[] Your mom is really strict
[] You have sisters who seem kind of jealous of you (I don't have any, but they would totally be jealous if they existed)
[] You’re afraid to speak your mind sometimes
[] You have left your shoes at a friend’s house before
[] You have blond hair
TOTAL: 1

Saving your flists! )

And I'm Belle, it seems! That should fit pretty well, I think. XD
I probably would be the one to fall for the beast...who is a rather good looking beast as far as beasts go really. I mean. he could've had tentacles and slimy skin and 5 eyes. That'd be more beastly. Instead he's like... a cute lion on two legs.

yes, it's late, why do you ask? -.-

There's something about this song that makes me happy. It has perspective. It makes you think. It's funny. It reminds you to be HAPPY about being alive. It's just all 'round awesome, really.

----
Galaxy Song by Monty Python
Whenever life gets you down Mrs. Brown
And things seem hard or tough
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft
And you feel that you've had quite enough...

Just, remember that you standing on a planet that’s evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour
It’s orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it’s reckoned
A sun that is the source of all our power

The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm at forty thousand miles an hour
Of the galaxy we call the Milky Way

Our galaxy itself, contains a hundred billion stars
It’s a hundred thousand light years side-to-side
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick
But out by us it just three thousand light years wide

We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point
We go round every two hundred million years
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions in this amazing and
expanding universe

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whiz
As fast as it can go, the speed of light you know
Twelve million miles a minute and that’s the fastest speed there is
So remember when you’re feeling very small and insecure
How amazingly unlikely is your birth
And pray that there’s intelligent life somewhere up in space
Cause there’s bugger-all down here on Earth

---

First off: so much LOL at the ending.

secondly:
So remember when you’re feeling very small and insecure
How amazingly unlikely is your birth

So very true and something we could all stand to remember more often, I think!

Your result for Howard Gardner's Eight Types of Intelligence Test...

Musical

14% Logical, 31% Spatial, 49% Linguistic, 14% Intrapersonal, 16% Interpersonal, 76% Musical, 10% Bodily-Kinesthetic and 22% Naturalistic!

"This area has to do with rhythm, music, and hearing. Those who have a high level of musical-rhythmic intelligence display greater sensitivity to sounds, rhythms, tones and music. They normally have good pitch and may even have absolute pitch, and are able to sing, play musical instruments, and compose music. Since there is a strong auditory component to this intelligence, those who are strongest in it may learn best via lecture. In addition, they will often use songs or rhythms to learn and memorize information, and may work best with music playing in the background.

Careers which suit those with this intelligence include instrumentalists, singers, conductors, disc-jockeys, and composers." (Wikipedia)

I'm not very eloquent these days. I'm hardly literate at all, I think. I want to be all wise and philosophical and entertaining in my journal entries, but I don't think I'm kidding anyone and least of all myself. My brain is just too fried lately.

Though I have to say it sort of pisses me off when people have the audacity to call students lazy and especially this time of year. Okay, so there are people who don't take it seriously at all and I realise these are probably very visible where they rave around drunk throughout May. But take a trip up to the unis and you'll find almost every available surface occupied by students who sit there from morning till night. They go home, try to sleep and they come back to uni the next morning to do it all over again. Weekends? No such thing. Holidays in May? No such thing. It's all the same these days. It doesn't matter if it's Saturday or Sunday, people still have to read for hours on end. And then when they're finally done they go home for the Summer to work their summer jobs day in and day out so they can afford livingarrangements at uni the rest of the year. Show me anyone else who does this. I'm just saying.

I had pretty physical labour for a couple of summers while working at a nursing home, and don't get me wrong... it's hard work and you get very physically tired, especially after many days in a row at work. And at one point I worked every day for 14 days, and that's more than a 100% employee does. But nothing - nothing - makes me as tired as weeks on end with trying to cram your head with knowledge 6-10 hours a day.

Okay, I didn't even come here to rant. heh.
I come bringing a song, because...well...I feel like it.
It's a recording I did of Autumn Leaves done some months back.

People are so ridiculous when it comes to Eurovision. It's for fun. If you win, great. If you lose, who the fuck cares. It's disappointing for an hour and then life goes on. It's a 'song contest' where it usually just comes down to what catches people attention, not necessarily what's the best composition etc. Sure, the artist may be a good singer, but if the song doesn't stick out in a good way it's not going to get any votes. That's just how it works. People like what they like, and you can't change that.

It annoys the crap out of me that after every Eurovision the sore losers pop out screaming about how ~political~ it is. For years now, British people have been doing this all over youtube and other places. "OMG it's so political. Everyone hates us cause we're so involved in Iraq! That's why we get no points."

WUT?! Who watches Eurovision and thinks about who's involved in Iraq and not?
Newsflash, guys. The reason UK did poorly for a while was that they sent CRAP. In 2003 they sent a duo of some sort that was supposed to be singing, I suppose, but it was so off key it was a suffering to listen to. In 2006 they sent an old guy rapping in a pretend classroom and some kids yelling the chorus at the top of their lungs. It was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever seen.

And this year, it's the Greek complaining all over the internet. Clearly, it's all political because Greece clearly had the best song and everyone else is just voting strategically.
What the frack kind of political reason is there to not vote for Greece anyway?! "I hate your ancient buildings and your party beaches, 0 votes from me!!"

I can tell you the reason Greece didn't win or get higher up: It was a crappy, repetitive song with the chorus running over and over again, sung by a sleezy looking guy who ripped up his shirt so we got a 'wonderful' male nippleslip. The choreography consisted of him dryhumping an imaginary pole, walking on a threadmill and jumping off it ever 5 seconds.

It's not political, it's called different tastes. People, it's EUROVISION. No one cares about politics when they watch a stupid song contest. Just because one country thinks their song is good, doesn't mean it'll strike a chord with the rest of the countries. And let's face it, much of the so-called block voting comes from the fact that the countries have similar cultures and some of the same people are celebrities in these countries and they speak similar languages. This is only natural, though can be abit annoying.

So, please, internet. Chill out. It's Eurovision. It's a song contest on crack that we all watch for the lulz, and whichever song wins is usually a song that is just catchy or caught people's attention somehow. We all know this isn't a superserious contest based on merit and actual talent.

And for the record: Norway holds the record for most last places and most 0 points in Eurovision, so I know what I'm talking about here. :P

I've come to the point where I need to actually start figuring out what to write my masters thesis on. I need to pick the general area before June, because I need to take a masterscourse on the area this fall and it needs to be registered before June 1st. So, there was an info meeting today and I was hoping it'd clear some things for me, but it didn't really. I need to try and sort out the thoughts I have for all the areas:

+ and -  )

Okay, it was good to sort the thoughts out, at least. If anything, I see now that language acquisition is completely out of the question.

ENTP - The Inventor

Your ideal mate is known as the inventor. This type is a flirtateous and energetic romantic partner, fun and engaging, always looking for something unusual to try. In their enthusiasm, they may make promises they can't keep. Tehir competitive nature and need to be perceived as an expert can be daunting to a romantic partner at times. They so enjoy the tug of a good debate that sometimes they act as if they don't take anything seriously. They are usually very supportive and helpful to their mates, but somewhat scattered and unable to devote their full attention there. They feel most appreciated for their great ideas, unusual perceptiveness, and ability to understand and communicate with people. They feel most appreciated when their partners understand their need for lots of social contact and their need to live life as spontaneously as possible.

Okay, I really kind of learned abit about myself while taking this test. Which doesn't happen all that often. But I realised that some of the things I actually of want in a partner is the opposite of what I thought I did before actually giving it much thought. Which seems weird. but nonetheless true.

I couldn't sleep tonight. Really. I haven't slept at all. I went to bed at 5 AM (yes, I know >.<) and turned around fitfully for a couple of hours. And then I realised it was no use, got up and took a shower and watched Gilmore Girls until the present time. Lunch in half an hour and class after that, so I can't sleep now even if I'm getting tired.

Over two hours of turning and being as awake as ever lead me to rather strange topics of thought, though. I had a couple of realisations...

Numero uno. Do you guys realise how many kids we'll have running around some years from now actually named Twilight?
"Her name is Twilight!"
"Ah, my favourite time of day."
"No, from the book."
"Right..."

Not to mention all the Edwards. Oh, the Edwards :( You thought the cropping up of Lunas would be bad? Just you wait. Edward is going to be the new Lucas. I don't know about you guys, but in Norway every other kid is named Lucas these days. I blame One Tree Hill. Or whatever it is that has Lucases.

zwei. Can you imagine how the internet would have been if it had been more common in the late 80s/early 90s? Do you guys realise how much more crazy fanfiction there would have been? And the fanfiction scene is weird enough as it is. There are currently 205 fanfics on Beverly Hills 90210 on fanfiction.net, but imagine the numbers if internet was as easily accessible as it is now.

Okay, guys, I think I'm going to die laughing at the moment.
Did you realise there are currently 410 (?!) works of fanfiction on the TV-show Bonanza. While indeed a fabulously old wild west-y TV show, the thought of there being fanfiction amuses me to GREAT lengths. I wonder if Little Joe ever gets a girl who doesn't die in fanfiction.
Ah, this takes me back! To weekends, 10 o'clock in the mornings, Bonanza and my mother (right on time after Lassie) and no school.

Holy crap.
There's adult Touched by an Angel fanfiction.
So wrong. So very, very wrong D:

The Chocolate Oracle Says You're Mellow

You are sweet, mellow, and easily satisfied.

You don't like anything too intense and dramatic.

Deep down, you're a kid at heart... and you're nostalgic for the past.

You are full of life and vigor.

You have an amazing amount energy, and you keep very active.

Some people feel like you can't focus on them. You do tend to be restless

You love to be the center of attention. You enjoy entertaining your friends.

You feel lost when no one is interested in you... You're too interesting to be ignored.

LOL I sound like the biggest attention whore in the universe.

Other quizzes for the heck of it )

In other news... I changed my layout cause I felt the need for something simpler. And I finally added something to my rather empty profile. I know, it only took me over a year.

And I finally figured out how everyone got the last.fm powered music things! (Let's not mention that I figured out by accident and couldn't find out why I suddenly had it. *shifty eyes*)
